It is a tragedy that we cannot extract a decent amount of value from our once huge export earner. At least the new government recognises the need to direct our Ministries to use wool as first choice for replacing school and office carpets. There are entrepreneur’s out there doing great work like Wise Wool who do see a future for this wonderful natural fibre. It saddens me that we have got to the point of some farmers raising sheep that do not need shearing and prefer a meat only animal.
